Ulchi Freedom Shield

Ulchi Freedom Shield – a combined, joint, all-domain, and interagency operating environment. This annual exercise aims to build understanding between Combined Forces Command, United States Forces Korea, the United Nations Command, and ROK Joint Chiefs of Staff (JCS), ensuring their ability to fortify the combined defense posture and enhance Alliance response capabilities against a spectrum of security threats. It will feature live, virtual, constructive and field-based training, engaging personnel from the various military services.

A C-130J Super Hercules from the 317th Airlift Wing, Dyess Air Force Base, and HC-130J Combat King II from the 23rd Wing, Moody AFB, deliver airmen and cargo to Avon Park Auxiliary Airfield as part of Agile Flag 22-2. AGILE FLAG 22-2 will test the Lead Wing’s ability to utilize their A-staff to generate combat air power while continuing to move, maneuver, and sustain the Wing and subordinate force elements in a dynamic and contested environment.
