Gen Brunson's Remarks at the 2025 UN Forces Memorial Ceremony

It is an honor to be here at the sacred War Memorial of Korea.

We gather here today to honor the brave men and women and their nations who answered the call to defend freedom. Their sacrifice, representing unprecedented global solidarity from 22 nations under the UN banner, built the foundation for the remarkable nation we see today.

That courage is not just a chapter in history; it is the enduring legacy that enabled the prosperity and democratic success of the Republic of Korea.

Now, the torch of that mission is in our hands. The spirit of alliance and unity remains the bedrock of our security. The Member States of the United Nations Command stands together… a living symbol of international resolve, bound by shared values forged in the crucible of conflict.

We reaffirm our commitment here and now: a dedication to regional stability, collective action, and the unwavering defense of peace. We will ensure that the sacrifices made here were not in vain.

May we always hold the memory of these heroes we honor close. Let their resolve inspire our vigilance, strengthen our enduring partnerships, and guide our efforts to secure hope for generations to come.
