USFK adjusts mask regulations on installations for COVID vaccinated USFK affiliated personnel

By USFK Public Affairs

Effective immediately, fully vaccinated USFK affiliated personnel who are at least two weeks beyond their final dose of an FDA/KDCA authorized vaccine are no longer required to wear a mask indoors or outdoors on USFK installations in alignment with the DoD’s new policy. Personnel who are not fully vaccinated will continue to follow all applicable USFK mask wear guidance.

All USFK affiliated personnel will:

  • Continue to comply with CDC guidance regarding areas where masks should be worn including on buses, trains, airplanes and in stations and airports.
  • Continue to wear masks in facilities where mask wear is explicitly required for entry as determined by base or garrison commanders.
  • Wear masks in accordance with local Republic of Korea laws and guidelines.

All USFK affiliated personnel are encouraged to carry vaccination cards or equivalent documentation for the purpose of contact tracing.

Commanders at all levels will determine appropriate operational risk related to USFK updated mask wear guidance in an indoor work environment in order to determine risk for COVID-19 transmission.
