In light of the ROK government’s declaration of the highest alert level “severe” on COVID-19, the ROK-US Alliance made the decision to postpone the combined command post training for the ROK-US Combined Forces Command until further notice.
한미동맹은 한국정부가 코로나 19 위기단계를 “심각”으로 격상함에 따라 기존에 계획했던 한미 연합사령부의 전반기 연합지휘소 훈련을 별도의 공지가 있을 때까지 연기하기로 결정하였다.

The containment efforts for COVID-19 and the safety of the ROK and US service members were prioritized in making this decision. The decision to postpone training was initially raised by General Park Hanki, Chairman of the ROK Joint Chiefs of Staff. General Robert “Abe” Abrams, Combined Forces Command and United States Forces Korea Commander, agreed to postpone the training based on the severity of the present COVID-19 situation within South Korea.
이번 결정은 코로나 19 확산차단 노력과 한미장병의 안전을 최우선으로 고려하여, 박한기 한국합참의장이 먼저 훈련을 연기할 것을 제안하였고 로버트 “에이브” 에이브럼스 한미 연합사령관 겸 주한미군 사령관이 현 코로나 19 관련 상황의 엄중함에 공감하고 연기하기로 합의하여 이뤄졌다.

Despite the postponement of combined training, the ROK-US alliance remains committed to providing a credible military deterrence and maintaining a robust combined defense posture to protect the ROK against any threat.
이러한 연기결정에도 불구하고, 한미동맹은 대한민국 방위를 위해 그 어떤 위협에 대해서도 높은 군사적 억제력을 제공하고 굳건한 연합방위태세를 유지할 것이다.
