Booking Lodging Reservation

Lodging and Temporary Accommodations During In-Processing

Personnel assigned to U.S. military components operating in Korea who are not immediately provided on-post housing may be required to arrange temporary lodging while completing mandatory in-processing procedures and securing long-term accommodations.

In cases where on-post housing is not available due to rank, grade, or command sponsorship status, the local housing office will provide official notification in writing. This typically applies to accompanied Service Members and civilian personnel; most unaccompanied personnel are assigned designated housing facilities for the duration of their in-processing.

Lodging Categories and Housing Status

Unaccompanied Personnel (E1–E8, WO1–CW4, O1–O4):
Unaccompanied personnel in these ranks are generally assigned temporary quarters in reception barracks or designated in-processing facilities managed by the gaining installation. These facilities provide centralized lodging during the in-processing period.

Senior Personnel and Accompanied Personnel (E9, CW5, O5 and above, or those with dependents):
Accompanied personnel and senior-grade Service Members are typically accommodated at the installation’s official on-post lodging facility (e.g., Camp Humphreys Army Lodging) during in-processing. A Certificate of Non-Availability (CNA) must be issued by on-post lodging officials before individuals are permitted to stay in off-post accommodations during this period.

Making a Lodging Reservation

If you receive notification that on-post housing is not available, or you require lodging as part of your relocation, you should coordinate directly with the on-post lodging facility for your assigned installation.

If lodging is unavailable, your installation’s personnel support office will provide guidance on authorized alternative accommodations. Off-post lodging is not authorized during in-processing without prior coordination and approval from your installation’s housing or personnel office.
