Sponsorship Support for U.S. Personnel Transitioning to Korea

A well-structured sponsorship program is essential to supporting Service Members and Department of Defense (DoD) civilians as they transition to an overseas assignment. Across all components of United States Forces Korea (USFK)—including the U.S. Army, 7th Air Force, U.S. Space Force, U.S. Navy, U.S. Marine Corps, and U.S. Special Operations Command Korea—sponsorship ensures individuals and families receive guidance and resources for a smooth relocation to the Republic of Korea.

Sponsors serve as your first connection to the unit or organization and provide important information on in-processing, housing, transportation, local services, and cultural awareness. Early engagement with a sponsor can reduce the stress of moving, increase readiness, and enhance overall quality of life.

Staying Connected During Your PCS

Maintaining communication with your sponsor throughout your PCS process is strongly encouraged. If you have access to a Common Access Card (CAC), use it to stay connected via official channels. If you’re in transit, on leave, or temporarily without CAC access, you may use your DS Logon. We also recommend sharing a reliable civilian email address to ensure consistent communication throughout your move.
