USFK aligns with ROK for arrival quarantine policy

By USFK Public Affairs

Beginning June 1, USFK implemented the following entry requirements for all arrivals to align with recent ROK policy changes:

SOFA-affiliated, fully vaccinated individuals and children under 12 years old traveling with a fully vaccinated guardian are exempt from quarantine.

Fully vaccinated (ROK definition)

For those 18 years or older:

  • Have received primary series COVID-19 vaccine (single or two-dose vaccine) within the last 14 to 180 days OR
  • Have received primary series COVID-19 vaccine (single or two-dose vaccine) and a booster.

For those between 12-17 years old:

  •  Have received primary series COVID-19 vaccine (single or two-dose vaccine) within 14 days or more prior to arrival.

Individuals not fully vaccinated according to ROK definition remain subject to a mandatory 7-day quarantine, and may quarantine in their residence with an approved Quarantine Action Plan (.docx)

Regardless of vaccination or quarantine status, all international arrivals will be subject to PCR test no later than Day 3 after entry into the ROK. For SOFA-affiliated individuals, Day 3 testing will be completed at a U.S. military treatment facility, no exceptions.

Non-SOFA affiliated international arrivals or short-term visitors who do not reside in the ROK, will follow all ROK guidelines related to quarantine. Such individuals are not permitted to quarantine at a SOFA-affiliated member's residence or any location other than locations designated by ROK authorities.

For additional details on how these changes apply to you, contact your chain of command, supervisor or sponsor.
