USFK Adjusts to HPCON B in Areas I and III - including Osan Air Base - and Seongnam

By USFK Public Affairs

As Areas I and III - including Osan Air Base - and Seongnam adjust to HPCON Bravo on Monday, Feb. 15 at 7 a.m., USFK wants to remind its affiliated community that the risk still exists.

Please be aware of the below updates, and see your chain of command for additional details on how these changes apply to you:

  • As some might be aware, DOD recently mandated mask wear on all military installations. While the attached infographic includes this mandate and the four exceptions when you can remove your mask, USFK’s current mask policy remains in effect until we receive additional guidance from the military service department HQs
  • For those in HPCON Bravo areas, travel to Area II+ remains off limits except for OFFICIAL DUTY ONLY. For those who reside or assigned in Area II+ cannot travel to HPCON Bravo areas except for OFFICIAL DUTY ONLY; all other travel requires an exception to policy letter approved by the first O-6 or civilian equivalent within the individual or sponsor’s chain of command
  • Only personnel assigned to K-16 are authorized HPCON Bravo activities in Seongnam
  • ALL USFK-affiliated individuals, regardless of assigned area, are authorized bubble-to-bubble travel to include USAG-Yongsan and the Dragon Hill Lodge
  • In addition to normal HPCON Bravo permitted activities, the following additional activities are once again authorized in HPCON Bravo areas: saunas, bathhouses, gyms, fitness facilities, martial arts classes, aerobic and dance classes, internet cafes, karaoke, singing and music lessons
  • While all bars, clubs and establishments that restrict entrance to adults only remain off limits pen-wide until further notice, karaoke rooms are now authorized
  • All affiliated individuals must continue to follow all South Korean rules, directives and laws, as well as adhere to USFK HPCON mitigation measures, core tenets and mandatory mask wear at all times when off installation.

We must protect the force to protect the mission.
