Pacific Regional Trials 2017

USFK Public Affairs

Warrior Transition Battalion will host Pacific Regional Trials 2017, Nov. 6-11, at Schofield Barracks, HI. About 70 wounded, ill, or injured active-duty Soldiers and Veterans from across the Pacific region will compete for the opportunity to qualify for Army Trials 2018, the pre-qualifying event for DoD Warrior Games 2018.

The DoD Warrior Games is an inter-service competition that emphasizes the role of athletics in the recovery of wounded, ill, and injured service members and veterans and provides a high-profile event to encourage other wounded service members to participate in adaptive sports.

Pacific Regional Trials 2017 is a great opportunity to bring together Post 9-11 wounded warriors and veterans from across the Pacific region to highlight the resiliency and warrior spirit of service members, veterans and their families and caregivers.

Throughout the week, wounded warrior athletes will train and compete in eight adaptive sporting events: archery; cycling; track; field; shooting; sitting volleyball; swimming; and wheelchair basketball. Following the trials, the coaches, cadre and staff will evaluate the results and the top athletes will be selected from across the regions to progress to Army Trials 2018, the pre-qualifying event for DoD Warrior Games 2018.
